What is Velvet Culture?

Velvet is often associated with nobility. Possessing more acknowledged privileges and higher social status. Nobility has historically been granted unlike other social classes where membership is determined solely by wealth.

Culture encompasses social behaviors and norms found in human societies. It serves as a guideline for behavior, dress, language and demeanor in a situation. Social conflict and development can produce changes within a society by altering social dynamics and promoting new cultural models.

Societies may be illustrated as an economic, social, industrial or cultural infrastructure. It is made up of, yet distinct from, a varied collection of individuals. Societies construct patterns of behavior known as societal norms. A society can enable its members to benefit in ways that would otherwise be difficult on an individual basis.

Secrecy is the practice of hiding information from certain individuals or groups who do not have the "need to know". Secrecy can exist in a number of different ways: encoding, encryption and obfuscation to name a few.
